Designer’s description: Welcome to the third pattern of Year of Meditation! This design is for Beltane, which is May 1. Beginning the socks at Ostara should allow enough time to complete your project and have the chance to wear your socks while sipping something spicy on Beltane. Included is a mini-magazine with a recipe, information about horses, and a meditation. This is a wonderfully simple design of 1/1 cables and slipped stitches that have enough repetition to be meditative while still keeping your interest to the end. The design represents the the flames of a bonfire. It would look great with tonal, gradient and handspun. You’ll need a skein of sock yarn (between 250 – 375 yards, depending on the size and length you make) and your favorite sock needles (I prefer using the “Magic Loop” method of knitting socks). You also might like to have handy your favorite mug of coffee or tea, a bouquet of flowers, or even a happy song list playing in the background.
