Designer’s description: I am lucky enough to have been blessed with a wonderful Grandma, and this design is a tribute to my own Grandma Sarah and the legacy she left her grandchildren. She affectionately referred to all 35 of her grandchildren, in Yiddish, as “mamelah” for her granddaughters, “tatelah” for her grandsons. Another commonly used term of endearment is “bubelah” meaning children … and that is where I found my inspiration for this blanket and its name. A simple and easy-to-follow pattern like this one is something Grandma Sarah would have loved to knit for each of her grandchildren – and she definitely would have knit them while watching “her stories” (General Hospital, to be specific – which I still watch now!). I think of her with warm memories as I prepare my home for the holidays throughout the year, remembering that her secret ingredient in every recipe was love. Available in sizes from car seat to adult throw.
