Flower Kerchief by Lauren Rose

This wide kerchief has a narrow band starting just behind the ears to hold the front in place. The wide band is worked in two colors, with a solid background broken up with alternating rows of simple stranded colorwork that look like little flowers.

Accessibility statement: A low-vision version of the pattern is also available. This version is written in 24 point sans serif font (Arial) in all black text. It has no italics. All of the directions are fully written out.

Designer’s description: Spring has sprung, and green thumbs are getting back into the garden. Tie your hair back with this quick kerchief for a fresh and practical look. This kerchief is knit from the bottom up, first making just the part that will cover the head. This piece has a single row of 2-color stranded knitting every 4 rows (it will always be a right side row). After this piece is finished, stitches are picked up along each edge to knit the ties that are used to affix the kerchief.
This looks best in 2 colors with strong contrast. The Main Color would be best as a solid or tonal yarn, and the Contrast Color can be a little more wild.
