Designer’s description: The Follow Your Arrow Shawl is all about finding your own way and being true to who you are, even if the path you take isn’t the one others have set out for you. The pattern is completely customizable so you can also adjust the size of each section, the number of sections, and the color combinations. Add as many or as few colors as you want, work it up in anything from a variegated to a solid, and make something that’s perfectly, uniquely you. The sample is shown in a sport weight, but the pattern works well in anything from a fingering to a worsted. The pattern is all about the transitions between the colors and it’s perfect for fading, so play around with variegated, speckled, and semi-solid colors. The color blocking means the pattern is not a good match for gradient or self striping colors as it will not display them to their best advantage. The Follow Your Arrow is a large asymmetrical triangle. It features five blocks of color – the first, third, and fifth are all the same color. The second and fourth are two separate contrast colors. Between each section is a narrow set of stripes with both the old and new color in it. The stripes aren’t even rows, they have a zipper aesthetic.
