Hug Wings by Joanne Seiff

This scarf has a unique shape, much like a manta ray. The wide end lays over your neck or shoulder, and the long end wraps around.

Designer’s description: We all might need more hugs these days. Here’s a way to knit one! Hug Wings is a reversible wrap that embraces your neck or drapes off your arms. This quirky, asymmetrical double triangle shape is a quick knit, requiring only simple stockinette knitting, yarn overs, decreasing, and other basic skills. Use your crochet skills for an optional single crochet edging or add your own knit one as a finishing touch. Hug Wings is flexible: adjust the yarn type and weight and gauge by choosing a needle two sizes larger than called for and create a design all your own. The sample’s lofty, light texture of alpaca creates a draped, lacy effect when knitted on larger needles, while its mate, a doubled springy superwash merino/nylon sock blend, clings like elastic.
