La Belle Cloche by Helen Silva

The cloche is shown in two colors, with the brim folded up halfway to reveal the interior color. A narrow band edges the brim with lace accents on the band and the body of the hat.

The cloche style hat is possibly one of the most flattering hats around. It can be worn with the brim in any position you choose, and will frame your face beautifully. It is written for sizes small, medium and large, but is meant to fit with little to no negative ease, setting on the head, rather than hugging the head like a beanie style hat. A bit of lace dresses the contrasting color band. Shown here in two contrasting/coordinating colors, it can also be done in a single color. The design is quite basic, but also very versatile, giving you a number of options for your personal needs and taste. It works up very quickly and takes less than 1 skein of a light worsted weight yarn.
