In the pantheon of baked goods, few things are as splendid as a well-executed macaron. It’s light with a slightly crispy exterior, filled with just the right amount of ganache, and delicately flavored without being overpowering. If I’m honest, that’s how I prefer my desserts: delicate and understated. The Macaron Mitts are meant to be an echo of all those good things. They’re knit in a fingering weight yarn so that, once you put them on, they’re almost weightless. The detail is delicate and just fiddly enough that when you get it right, you can feel proud of yourself.
