Accessibility statement: This pattern comes with the original version, a large text version (22 point), and a screen reader version for accessibility. The screen reader version has written instructions for the colorwork instead of a chart.

Designer’s description: I designed this cowl last year in honor of Mother’s Day (US) to be a companion piece for the Mamaidh Colorwork Slouch. I gave both of them to my own mother as gifts, and it made me incredibly happy to see how much use she had given them this past winter season. My family takes an early winter hunting trip, so this cowl kept my mom’s face nice and toasty- safe from the wind’s biting chill. Since it’s release, I have seen this cowl knit up in a worsted weight (size 4) yarn, and it looks SO cozy! If you do opt to substitute a worsted weight for the recommended DK, just keep in mind that it may affect your gauge which will change the final dimensions of your cowl.
