Designer’s description: I was looking for something durable, big enough to be a project bag for my knitting, and something that would use up those leftover skeins I had in my stash. This pattern uses about half-a-skein of the suggested yarn per colour, (a little more for the MC) making it the perfect project to use up leftover half-skeins of yarn! The bag starts with the same cast on used for toe-up socks, and increases from that to form the bottom of the bag. There are two different bottoms, one for a bag with a tapered bottom, (shown on the sample), and one for a flat bottomed bag. The mitered squares are knit individually without seaming, picking up stitches from the work below. Then, the bag is finished in the round and eyelets are added for a twisted cord. The top border of the bag is edged with garter stitch stripes.
