Nothing sets my heart on fire quite like a gorgeous crocheted shawl! The Heart of Fire Shawl is one of my favorite shawl styles, featuring a cozily textured body with bold contrast stripes and an exquisite lace border. It’s endlessly fun to work up – the color changes keep it interesting without requiring focus or counting, and the colors are carried up the side so there’s no extra ends to weave in – and the heart shape makes it easy to wear and style.
The pattern is mostly mindless, but it is best suited for adventurous intermediate or advanced crocheters due to the techniques used.
The shawl requires at least two colors to be worked up, but can be worked in just two colors instead of three. If worked in only two colors, you’ll need slightly more of the contrast color as compared to the main color.
Size
Size can be customized by working extra/fewer repeats in the body of the shawl. When worked as stated, shawl has a wingspan of 39 inches or 99 cm and measures 28 inches or 71 cm down the back. The top corner of the wing to the bottom center of the shawl measures approximately 42 inches or 107 cm.
A note is included for creating a shawl that is a wider and shallower triangle.

Overview of the Finished Object
The Heart on Fire Shawl is a heart-shaped shawl, with a deep body and wings that curve drastically upwards. The body is super textured, with contrast texture stripes in two contrast colors. The edging is worked with one of the contrast colors. It’s lacy and open and ends with a row of solid, sharply pointed shells.
